 New High Performance Spherical Porous Silica Gel
Manufactured by GL Sciences in Japan, Inertsil ODS-3 represents a new generation C18 reversed phase HPLC packing for particulary demanding separations. It is however also ideally suited to the solution of general analytical problems. The base material for ODS-3 is a newly developed 99.999% pure silica with a 100 A pore size and a perfectly spherical shape, as indicated in the figure on the right. This superior new base silica, coupled with GL Sciences’ advanced proprietary bonding technology, makes Inertsil’ ODS-3 among the best C18 reversed phases available.
Super Inert Surface
In the production of Inertsil ODS-3, the silanols are eliminated through a proprietary bonding-endcapping technology developed at GL Sciences. To confirm maximum inertness, each lot of Inertsil’ ODS-3 must pass a new quality control program using NMR for each process step.
 Inertsil ODS-3V, a Validated HPLC Column
GL Sciences has developed a program to manufacture, test and guarantee validated HPLC columns that will provide high performance results column after column, lot after lot. In addition to the test chromatogram included with each analytical column, all validated columns are supplied with a packing material certificate indicating all the manufacturing and test data done for that material lot. Every step in the manufacture and testing of Inertsil ODS-3V columns is critically controlled and monitored. The same high performance characteristics found in Inertsil ODS-3 have been incorporated in the manufacture of Inertsil ODS-3V. Inertsil ODS-3 users can, therefore, readily change to the new, validated Inertsil ODS-3V columns with complete confidence.
